It is Saturday night here in Grants Pass. I went to the first (of many I hope) "Porch Concerts" in Grants Pass this afternoon. Participating groups/individuals performed on porches of many homes off of Washington and Lawnridge streets in what I call "mid-town." Certain streets were blocked off so people could stroll in a vehicle-free zone. Lots of people showed, yes! It was a warm one today, almost too warm for me. Certainly enjoyable.
I enjoyed the sunset from my home and also enjoyed a quiet evening.

Howdy, hello!
Well, attended the Night at the Museum (Grants Pass Museum of Art) with 15 other local authors. We each had display tables and we each got up to speak to the audience. It was fun and informational. There was good food, music, and great conversation. I am tired. We (the authors) were to arrive one hour prior to "show time" at 5pm. I actually arrived at 4:30 while visiting the gallery (Gallery One) downstairs from the museum. Then we stay to help clean up. So I was home by 9:30. A long day, for me. I am mindful of my energy level and act accordingly, well most of the time. Still, it was worth it. We get to do again on the 24th (see events tab). A good time was had by all. You are wondering did I sell any books? Yes, I sold one and traded one (from another author). A good night all and all.

It is Flag Day - one can google to "read" all about it. Suffice it to say I know we have the most beautiful flag in the world, in my humble opinion. Well, maybe not so humble. I don't have a flag to wave. I have my Dad's but it is encased in a beautiful triangular frame - sigh - I miss him. He was tough and I loved him.
So, another day to work on the details regarding the June 16th and June 24th book signing events at the Grants Pass Museum of Art. I'm really excited and a bit stressed! Of course, I am!
Took a walk and had a picnic with a close friend. We started at Tussing Park and walked across the Pedestrian Bridge (over the Rogue River) to Reinhart Volunteer Park. Some people still call it by it's former name - All Sports Park. It was re-dedicated in 2005 or 2006 which I attended. I had not lived here very long. It was a very nice event. Anyway, we walked and talked and watched the cottonwood trees shed their cotton. It was like a snow globe.
A beautiful day, started as over caste and just got better.

Well, I need to start the blog sometime so now is the time! This website is new; however, I have had a previous website through artsites.us before. I am very happy with them so I used them again!
I belong to a group called Authors Innovative Marketing (AIM) which is comprised of published authors. I am learning a lot from this group. In fact, we are having a book-signing (plus more) at the Grants Pass Museum of Art. I believe I listed this under the "events" tab of this website. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. There will be about 10 or 11 of us and we will have our tables set up in one area of the museum and a speaking section in the other section of the museum. There will be snacks and music, too. Yes, I will get up and speak. Good thing I'm not shy.
Bye for now,
Marie
