Bang! Bang!
It's been going on for the past 2 hours! Either someone is shooting off their gun and/or too much "after the 4th of July" fireworks. Either way it is disturbing, especially in "these hear/here parts!" So time for bed and maybe I'll sleep.
I had a wonderful day spending time with friends including good eats and champagne, too! Then a dip in my friend's pool; we're talking 2 1/2 feet deep - but hey it gets the job done!
Good night and be well
Marie
Howdy Hello
Great day here in Grants Pass. Had a wonderful chicken tamale at the Grower's Market followed by a visit to Gallery One. Then stopped off at the Human Society Thrift shop. I enjoy thrift store shopping. Talk about value, and this case, helping our furry friends.
The on to my book signing at Aquarius Books and Gift store. Thanks to those who stopped by to say hello. I even sold a book! Yes! That's always a plus, like icing on the cake. Is that a worn out phrase or what?! But it works and people know what I'm talking about, too :)
Managed to pull my lower back, just by getting up off of the floor! Dang. I'm trusting I will feel a LOT better tomorrow.
Great, great day. July 1st already!

Hi there!
My friend, E, put up a bamboo "fence" of sorts on my balcony wrought iron (probably not the real deal but close to wrought iron) so I have privacy from the Memory Care facility now built and next to me. A huge building at that. Now I have my cute little balcony with some privacy, and I still get to see the sky and trees, etc. Yahoo!
I mailed 2 of my journal books to a gal in Medford. She will show her clients and/or constituents and then we'll see what happens from there. I will need (and want) to give some of these journals away - the cost of doing business. Time, energy and, of course, money. I trust it will all come back around.

Good afternoon, good morning or good evening to all!
Well, another day without AC - brutal. I don't like it when it gets above 80 and here it is 93 degrees in the apartment - time to go someplace cool, even a grocery store. And as anyone that knows me KNOWS I do not like to grocery shop! So we're talking desperate here folks! Pant, pant!
The AC folks will be here tomorrow between 9am and 5pm - WHAT!
Till then,

The event was really fun and informative. Though it was hot (over 100 degrees) people did show up. I, for one, really appreciated this. Ten of us authors showed our books at tables on one side of the museum, and on the other side is where we would give our talks. I did pretty well. I think I'm getting the hang of this thing - maybe. Yes, I am!
There was music down on the sidewalk. They were painted green but with this heat maybe they didn't need the paint. They were excellent! What troopers!
The food was good - fruit, crackers with spreads, cookies, brownies, chips, water and candy. Yum Yum!
The readings were great. The microphone could be a little moody but we could hear each other nonetheless. I bought a book, I sold three (yeah!) and fun was had by all. A HUGE thank you to Constance and a big thanks to ALL of the authors who were able to attend.
Thank you to everyone for showing up!

Greetings!
Well today is the day for the second AIM (Authors Innovative Marketing) group (10 of us at least) to meet and greet the public and friends. We will each have 10 minutes to "speak our truth" so to speak! Mine, being, The RecordKeeper, of course! Then we, the authors, will be sitting at tables with our books for sale (sometimes for trade) and getting to know people one-on-one! I like that part!
It's been really hot here the last 2 days and my AC is out (did I mention that already?) and no one can come to repair until Monday between 9am and 5pm! Argh. So LOTS of fans and pans of water with ice (I think it helps) and just grin and "bare" it!
Then the internet went out for a few hours - are we truly having fun yet?! Ya know, sometimes the joke "is on us!"
Continuing to laugh and write on!

It turned out to be a hot one again. It actually wasn't so bad until after 2pm. I've made contact with a clinic in Medford and they want me to send them a RecordKeeper so they can do a "dry run" with it. If the patients are open to this journal, then we can talk negotiation! How great is that?
I made it to the Cardiac Rehab for about 35 minutes. I do what is called an "independent" work out. I'm not hooked up to any monitors, but in the event something happens there are nurses and other staff to "save me!" How wonderful, eh? I did the stepper and a machine called the NuStep - enough to sweat!
I'm meeting with a gal later today to take a photo for our being Featured Artists at Gallery One (Grants Pass) for the month of August. Every month, except January (and even THAT may be changing!) there is an event called First Friday Art Walk where merchants stay open later offering their wares, food and drink. There are musicians everywhere, some of them strolling. People are out and about. The event is from 5 - 8pm but people stay out later than that!
Then after the mini photo-shoot I'll come home and put my feet up and have something cold to drink and just chill!
Until next time - hey I think I'm getting the hang of this blogging bit. Not that anyone reads it mind you, but it's right up there with journaling, well, kinda, sorta :-()

Hot one today, eh? Whew!
My friend, Sue, helped me (mostly her) modify a flyer for the June 24th event at the Grants Pass Museum of Art. What a friend on so many levels.
Then I got some wonderful news from my oncologist here in Grants Pass. My blood is good and I won't need to be seen for another year. Yahooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! So I'm happy about that. I went to a friend's house and we had a great dinner and some champagne to celebrate. Had the news been not-so-good we would have had the champagne anyway!
I sold a book today at my doctor's office and she placed it in the waiting room for patients (and others) to see and possibly buy if they are interested. Sweet!

Yep, that's right, no church today. I set the alarm, and because I didn't sleep well last night (no surprises there folks!), I turned the alarm off and bam! I awoke at 9:25am - and church services start at 10:30! Well, I could either rush out of bed sans coffee AND journaling (oh no!), or have my coffee and see how much "time" I have then rush to get ready and go. Well, you know how that turned out, right? But guess what? - my higher power is right here, now, with me - how great is that? And I can still be there at the church building with those in attendance, in spirit.
So I'm taking my time by blogging and creating what I want to include on my flyer for July's book-signing at Aquarius Books here in Grants Pass. It's going to be another hot one today (anything over 85 and I'm TOO hot!), so I will either stay inside or perhaps hike somewhere in the shade by the coolness of a river or creek. I'll let you know.
Stay cool,
Marie
Hi again!
I hiked with a friend, E, on Father's Day. Where? Limpy Creek, not far from Grants Pass. OMG! Awesome day and beautiful creek. We hiked and picnic'd (is that right?) right next to the creek. The photo shown here is beyond the end of the trail. E could see a culvert or something similar to it so I said I'm going over these logs and bushes to see what's "over there." And wow, was it worth it. A pool in which to swim (I don't think so, not in that freezing water!) or just soak your bandana in and wrap around your neck. Ahhhh. Really enjoyed the hike. Southern Oregon is truly one of the prettiest places in our country.
Happy Father's Day to us all, especially our fathers whoever they may be.
